Following on from yesterday’s post, I spent some time planning my schedule for the next couple of months. Our business is growing, we have a lot of opportunities, and in those two months I’m all over the UK. It’s an exciting time.
As I was driving to Perth for a Board Meeting yesterday morning, I was listening to one of Chris Ducker’s podcasts. He was interviewing an entrepreneur and they were talking about how using a Virtual Assistant had been a huge help in growing the business. Right away I realised that this was something that I should be considering for our business.
At the moment, I’m doing all of the admin, scheduling, emailing, recruitment, content, social media, not to mention the accounts. To be honest, it’s been pretty intense, and with the schedule I have over the next couple of months, it’s going to get busier.
As I listened to the podcast, I knew that I have to change the way I’m working. I need to focus on things like strategy, sales, client delivery, and have someone else deal with the rest. It’s a good problem to have, and I feel like this will take a weight off my shoulders.
So now I’m exploring using a VA. Fortunately a couple of friends have been able to recommend some people, so I’m looking into that. I’ve had a PA before, but never worked with a VA. It’s going to be interesting, but I feel that for the growth of the business it’s the right thing to do.
Do you have experience of working with a VA? What are the pros & cons?
