I speak at Conferences and Events about Design for Business, designing great Customer Experiences, and Entrepreneurship. My talks are never dull, and I don’t do Powerpoint.

What I will do is challenge your audience to think differently and be more innovative. They’ll go away feeling inspired and with a number of tangible actions that they can start implementing right away.

Here’s what people have to say about me:

“Ali was an excellent and quite motivational speaker and I enjoyed listening to him. He had a passion for the topic and a drive to get the message across”.

“I found this morning’s session very stimulating. It brought into stark reality that the vast bulk of organisations have a long way to go before they can really claim to know their customers”.

Bio – Alasdair McGill

I left school at 18 and embarked on a career in accountancy with Ernst & Young (now EY). As a natural communicator, I rapidly climbed the ladder before leaving to join a client in 1993.

That’s when my entrepreneurial journey began. We started with one business and over the next decade built a vibrant group of companies, operating in industries as diverse as construction, food & drink, tech, consulting, and leisure.

That was a huge learning curve for me. It’s where I earned my spurs. We had successes; we had failures. We started new ventures. We bought and we sold companies. I had the time of my life.

Since then I’ve continued the journey, always looking for new and better ways to do things. I have an innate curiosity and harbour a constructive discontent. That innovative streak runs through every company I’ve built over the years.

If you’d like to see my full profile, which includes all the businesses I’ve run, and the other things that I’ve done over the years, then you’ll find that on LinkedIn.

Today I help people build businesses through my company Ashton McGill, and I’m also the Entrepreneur in Residence at the University of Dundee.
